Our Commitment to Environmental Stewardship
Since our inception, Pacific Yurts has upheld a steadfast commitment
to environmentally responsible business practices. Our founding idea
was to help people get closer to nature while minimizing their impact on it.
Yurts are inherently resource-efficient, providing a large amount of enclosed
space using far less material than conventional construction. Both the yurt
and its platform can be removed with virtually no trace left behind.

Environmental Initiatives We Stand Behind
- Using lumber from sustainably managed forests certified by the
Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) - Powering our facilities with at least 25% renewable wind energy.
- Minimizing lumber waste through careful hand-selection of second-growth material.
- Recycling sawdust and wood trim material via local gardeners and artisans.
- Hand-finishing wood components to reduce air pollution from sprayed coatings.
- Using soy-based inks and recycled-content paper in printed materials.
- Designing our production facility to use natural and energy-efficient lighting.
- Participating in active cardboard and paper recycling programs.
- Repurposing fabric remnants into reusable shopping and duffle bags.
- Preserving natural habitat by naturescaping, installing bird boxes,
and protecting a grove of 100-year-old oak trees. - Supporting “cradle-to-cradle” recycling of used covers via our
