If there’s one thing Pacific Northwesterners love, it’s getting outside and vacationing when the sun makes its initial appearances in the spring and early summer months. While Washington offers a host of great activities annually, few are better than the chance to glamp in a Pacific Yurt right alongside your furry friends! Are you looking for a pet-friendly camping destination in the Evergreen State? Here are a few of our favorite campgrounds with Pacific Yurts that welcome dogs (and other animals) in Washington.
1. Coulee Playland Yurt – Electric City, WA
Located in the eccentric town of Electric City, the Coulee Playland Yurt is a part of the more massive Coulee Playland Resort and offers a furnished pet-friendly Pacific Yurt perfect for animal lovers. The yurt itself comes with private parking, a wraparound patio, a refrigerator, microwave, lighting, and enough beds to sleep up to 5 people. At $99 per night in peak summer months and $65 a night during the late summer and fall periods, this resort is an affordable way to get out of the city and into the sun for a few days with your best friend. Set on the shores of Banks Lake, Coulee Playland is a great place to fish, swim, paddleboard, or boat to your heart’s content – don’t forget your dog’s life jacket though!
2. Paradise Resort & RV Campground – Silver Creek, WA
For the more rustically inclined pups among us, Paradise RV Campground in Silver Creek, Washington offers a furnished yurt for both you and your pets to enjoy. At $101 per night, each dog-friendly Pacific Yurt has amenities like a picnic table, grass pad, and a fire pit to complete its more rustic “glamping” experience. While there isn’t an interior cooking area, each yurt does come with an onsite barbecue area that provides ample space and opportunity for you to grill up the catch of the day from the nearby river. Other activities at the Paradise Resort include mountain biking, swimming, or lounging in the onsite pool and hot tub, as well as (drumroll please), a dog park for your four-legged pals to play in to their heart’s content!
3. Grandy Creek Campground – Concrete, WA
Set just steps from its namesake watershed and at the base of the stunning Mt. Baker, Grandy Creek Campground is another Evergreen destination pairing premium scenery and outdoor experiences with pet-friendly yurt rentals in Washington. For about $90 per night, Grandy Creek glampers gain access to several miles of hiking trails, excellent waterfront views, and a slew of onsite amenities that incorporate mini-golf, a pool, hot tub, and a dog park into the pet-friendly glamping experience. If you’re looking to give your furry camping companion a taste of the wild side, the Skagit River is just a 15-minute drive from Grandy Creek and offers excellent fly fishing as well as rafting in the summer months.
4. Long Beach Campground – Seaview, WA
Long Beach Campground is a dog-lover’s dream. Not only is the entire campground dog-friendly, but the whole 28-mile stretch of the nearby beach welcomes pups too. This beautiful campground provides ample opportunities for guests to escape into the dense forest of SW Washington on multiple hiking trails that include breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean for you and leashed pets. Pacific Yurt rentals at Long Beach are available starting at $101 per night during the summer months and offer room for five people plus pets.
5. Thunderbird Campground – Monroe, WA
At just an hour from Seattle and the more famous waters of the Puget Sound, Thunderbird Campground is set among the picturesque Skykomish River. While the campground itself offers plenty of amenities onsite, including a dog park, the trails and waterfront views are sure to tempt even the most complacent of campers to tie up their hiking boots and give it a go. At around $100 a night (prices vary depending on the season), both of their Pacific Yurts welcome pets and come with more than enough amenities and activities to keep you and your furry glamping family occupied throughout your stay.
6. Guemes Island Resort – Skagit County, WA
The dog-greeting yurts at Guemes Island come fully furnished with beds, futons, and a dining set, and can sleep between four and six people depending on the rental you choose. Each pet-friendly yurt at this Washington campground also includes a private deck with incredible ocean views or Mt. Baker and grants visitors access to a cooking pavilion with a refrigerator, freezer, and electrical outlets for cooking stoves. Yurts are available for $100 to $160 per night, depending on the time of year and the size you rent (both 16′ and 20′ are available to rent). When it comes to relaxation and the outdoors for you and your loved ones (pets included), it doesn’t get much better than the Pacific Yurts at Guemes Island.
